No problem getting into fish on the boat and yeah the fish are there if you time the tides right, which I didn't on the day I got to the Eve. It's finding the bloody time. Being retired is not for the weak. Don't know how I held a job and raised three kids, lol. Today is window washing, about 40 of the them.
Anyone know if pinks ever showed up at the Cluxewe? Like to know whether the run was wiped out or not.
There's fish around ..one just has to get out there and know where to look & figure them out ... Some rivers are showing better than others .. depending on the tides, fishing pressure ..ect...It's definitely challenging ones skill & knowledge ..that's for sure ,,,
Yes, was there, and people I've spoken to as recently as August 18th said still no fish showing on the Cluxewe beach, estuary, or river. If none show in the river by now, pretty sure the run is done. Luckily a few return after 1 year, so in a decade or so, the run should be coming back.
Most of those small stream pink runs are artificial. They are put there for fertilizer. It would be nice to know if there is some "natural" spawning. Being "wiped out", depends more on whether or not someone wants to dump a truck load of fry from else where into the system.
