I'm just about to start building my are 6/7 11' switch and was wondering if any one has used this blank as a two handed overhead casting beach rod? if you have what line would you suggest to by for this application? Thanks
I've built several of them. It actually tests out as a 7/8 wt, rather than a 6/7. I primarily use a 510 Rage for the beach, using waterbourne casts. I've also used an 8 wt Outbound line for o/head casting, with good results. I recently bought a Snowbee 6/7 floating switch (full integrated) line, with 10' interm. sink tip, for a (true) 4 pce 6/7 wt 11' switch and really like it. It casts o/head and waterbourne casts really well. I suggest trying a 7/8 Snowbee switch for the ARE rod. I think you'll like it.
