So after talking with a bunch of our members, we have decided that the 2nd Annual Spring Fish Out will be back at Horne Lake Regional Park this year. Again the focus will be on a family fishout and we will do our best to include our significant others and kids in fishing, games and activities etc. If everyone is interested we can do another Potluck dinner but this year throw in a Theme and encourage everyone to dress up. The plan is to be better organized this year, with organized games, fishing excursions, group caving trips and even some prizes.
The campsites are not reservable until April 1st, and I will call in and see if I can get a block of campsites all together again, and then everyone will have to call into select one of the blocked sites and give a credit card to reserve. If you plan on attending, please let me know before April 1st, so I can do my best to book enough sites close together on the beach.

I wouldn't miss this one, will get my tin boat fixed up and somehow tow it there. Incentive to fix leaks and motor. Would be great if we could get the same sites again, they were awesome. Maybe we will have enough people to own that stretch and the kids/dogs can run wild
It might be hard to get a bunch of spots together on the long weekend.my wife has heard that it's really busy up there on the long weekends.worth a try I think see how bookings go.how many spots did we have last year?

I'm very interested in coming over for this. I'll look ahead at my schedule and give you a yeh or neh shortly.
Also if it helps, I plan to be fishing out of my 12ft tinny, and I and others will have room in boats and also can bring my pontoon up, will save you from bringing a boat on the ferry.
Unfortunately we won't be able to make it this year as we had a great time last.
That's a that's a bummer! Well hopefully there will be another time this spring/ summer that we could get the families together.maybe we should take over the campsite up past sayward this summer .

I drove up to Horne Lake Campground and biked into the South Campground to have a look at the sites at the far south end. They are way better than the sites we were in last year, as the beach was more open and sandy. The Campground opens up for booking April 1st, and I plan on calling in that morning to see if I can get a block on hold. The Sites 52-55S are the ones I think we should target which are 6 sites together, as well as 56S and 57S which are just off to the side.
So far we have 3 families confirmed with My neighbours, Ed & co, and my family. Would be great to see everyone start to confirm so I can block some sites out so that we are all grouped together.

That's great, looks a bit more private down that end. Come on guys, let's get this done! I had to cancel my May long weekend plans for this trip and get my boat ready to go, let's make this a good one

Just a quick announcement that we will have to change the date as the Campsite at Horne Lake is now full booked, and that the May Long weekend did not work for a few regular members. Was thinking of moving to the following weekend May 25-27th, but are open to feedback.
