There was an older guy on the Campbell on Saturday who was like that. He really wanted the spot. Guess he'd been fishing there all week (because he can) and owned the spot. Same guy who I witnessed last year, fence poling the sane spot and taking fish above the Quinsam. Perhaps the special $5 senior's license should only apply on weekdays.

Dont worry Paul, I will make you look like a pro๐ Warning, spey foolery may be highly addictive๐ Got my first salmon on my deer creek 5wt switch a couple weeks back, had a great time but not sure that it has what it takes to land a northern coho

Yes they can be useful, the challenge is launching them and hauling back up the beach. Most of us will be casting of the beach.
Will you be fishing down between the Oyster River and Salmon Point. If so I can see why a pontoon boat would be more headache than anything else. My wife said she would like to try fishing as well. She has almost no time in with a fly rod. She did well with the Pinks on the Campbell but that is a whole different ball game. If it proves to much for her she may try spin casting or would that be frowned on?
We won't judge if anybody Spin casts, especially if they bribe us with cookies etc....
Spin casting? I usually have one in the car for if the wind picks up. It's still fishing, and crap is it effective. Great for newbies when they start to get frustrated and their fly casting starts to fall apart.

Almost 2 weeks till the fish out, if possible can everyone please either post or PM me with how many are planning to attend, when you plan to arrive, and if you are camping etc.. I know quite a few of you are planning to bring, Wives, GFs, Family members and friends which is great, but I will need to have a good estimation of who will be at the Dinner Saturday night so I can make sure we have enough food etc. I plan on doing the same as last year with the smoked Chickens, Potato Salad, Buns, and hopefully corn or a green salad if not.
So far it looks like we will have around the same number last year, which made for a great time, and thanks to Ian for arranging a Fly Swap to be exchanged at the Fish Out.

My wife and I will be camping. As far as the dinner goes I have a ton of things I can't eat due to medical issues. I would like to be there for the dinner but I will have to make my own stuff. I will ask Laura if she would like to take part in the dinner and contribute.
No go list for me is crazy. It is tough to engage in social events when food plays such a large part of it. Going to a restaurant and not seeing anything that can be ordered is frustrating. I would kill for a pizza but then the pizza would kill me (not literally).
I told Laura that there is a spin casting levee that will be charged. She said that would be only right and fair.
