First off Welcome to the forum. I own the Garmin Striker 4, that I bought last year at Costco. So far I am happy with, but have not had any experience with the others on the list. I believe we have a few Helix fans on the forum, and hopefully they will share their experience with them.

I have the helix5 di GPS on my kayak and it's great, a bit overkill for a kayak but the idea was to swap the head unit back and forth with my boat. I got the one with Navionics and its spot on, I can mark spots in the ocean that were good fishing and return right back to the same spot again. The down imaging is great for the lakes but not as effective in salt in my opinion. I had a small display before this but I would recommend a bigger screen if you have the room. Overall a great sounder, tracks your speed, temps and distance traveled.

I like it but if I was to get into fishing lakes full time and fish chironomid I would either get a side imaging unit or the new 360 imaging they just came out with. My down imaging works great for what I do however
Garmin Striker 4 on the 12' and a Lowrance hook 7 on the 18' boat with an Airmar p66 transducer. I lose the down imaging but triple the power. Always been Lowrance. Harbour Chandler is great to deal with.
Garmin was just too many features for cheap to not buy it.
